Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser Review

|Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser Review|
OK so I have had my hands on this for about a month now and to cut straight to the chase I LOVE it!!
I managed to get a limited edition version of the moisturiser, which is a bit larger than the original.
Firstly this stuff works a dream for my skin, I have had no break outs using it, nor have I needed to worry about dry patches on my skin in this cold weather.
It smells divine, a citrus smell, so its a lovely fresh wake up in the morning. The moisturiser itself has a gel like consistency which I really like as it just sinks into the skin and you don't get the 'sticky, greasy' feeling that you get with some other moisturisers. Also, a little goes a long way!
My primers and makeup glide wonderfully onto my skin after putting this on as well.
If you like Clinique's Moisturise Surge then you will definitely like this (as long as you like citrus smells!).
So all in all I don't really have a bad word to say. I think this moisturiser is going to be a permanent edition to my skincare regime.
I ordered this directly from the Origins website, and delivery was very prompt!

Much Love

I have finally found that volume I have been looking for!

I have very thin hair, lots of it. But the longer it gets, the flatter and more lifeless it looks and feels.

I had my hair really short for several years because I found this was the best way to get a bit of volume. I am now growing my hair out again and I feel like I have found a product that genuinely gives my hair volume!!

BLEACH LONDON - Swamp Spritz Spray

I spray some of this onto partially dried hair (dry some with my hair dryer, mainly my fringe), scrunch my hair up with my hands a bit and then let the rest dry naturally and viola hair with volume!

So pleased with this stuff, and its lasted me ages!!!!

On the hunt for primer

I am on the lookout for a primer. I have tried the Benefit Pore Professional and I have just purchased the Clinique Universal Primer.

So far, I have found most primers I have tried have worked fairly well for my 'upmarket' foundations (i.e. NARS and MAC) but I am still searching for one that helps my Body Shop Moisture Foundation stay on as well. Ideally I don't want to use a different primer per foundation because that just involves waaaay too much hassle, and I am not great at complicated beauty regimes....

For me a primer needs to:
1. Help make up stay on for as long as possible in the day
2. Keep my skin healthy, i.e. no dry patches or breakouts
3. If it can do anything else then that's an added bonus for me!

....to be continued....

Shopping Haul

Okay so I went to town to buy body scrub and I came back with all of this! Some of these are essentials that I have bought for years and others are new to my beauty regime, so please read on if you want to know more.

Ill start with my body scrub. I use Body Shop and have done for years, they have so many different choices and I think they are reasonably priced.

The Shea Body Scrub is one of my favourites. I also purchased the Moringa Scrub and Moisturiser so I am excited to try these out. Body Shop always have great deals on so you can always get a bargain.

As we are talking about Body Shop products I might as well rave on about their Moisture Foundation. I looove this stuff!

Been buying it for years and years, and it is still to date the best foundation for my skin tone. The colour is just amazing and I cant find anything that matches better, I use this during the day and it is a saviour during the summer as it has SPF in it. Win win!! I use the shade 04. I do find that I need to use a powder on top of this around my T-Zone though - as its a moisture foundation it gives you a dewy finish and if you like the "matte" look you wont really get it with this foundation.

I also purchased the Camomile make-up remover, which I am yet to use but I will post once I have some thoughts!

Next up its the NARS Creamy Concealer. What can I say about this stuff.. it really covers up my dark circles under my eyes and I cant say that for anything else. I am pretty pale and I get really purpley circles under my eyes, whether I sleep or have late nights I cant get rid of them.

Really recommend this stuff, I have purchased Vanilla but I have also used the lightest shade Chantilly as well.

Lastly is the Casting Sunkiss Jelly. I use this to add a little extra blonde in my hair. I have natural highlights anyway but I like to try and emphasise these, especially in the winter when everything gets dull! This stuff is great cause you don't even need to wet your hair! Absolute bargain for a fiver, and much better than forking out hundreds for highlights!

I do also use a purple toning shampoo with this, I find it just ensures there are no yellowy/orange tones!

WARNING - I don't permanently dye my hair with any other product, so I haven't had any problems but there is bleach in this stuff so be careful!!!!

My Dressing Room

This post should actually be titled 'My Dressing Room Minus The Actual Dressing Table' - there used to be a dressing table in here but it looked too squished so I took it out and now I just stand and do my makeup.

I love decorative accessories, literally love!!I cant wait to get my own house and decorate everything to perfection! At the moment I'm renting, and I have put my little spin on things but I am limited with what I can do...

Below are images of my dressing room, I literally do my makeup in here, sort my hair out, choose my jewellery, perfume etc!!

I already have plans for my next homely purchases !!! :) :)

Favourite shops (high street and online)...Next Home, Debenhams, BHS, peony.co.uk, John Lewis and practically every shop in Brighton!!!!!

New Moisturiser

OK so I have been looking to purchase a new moisturiser, I love the Clinque Moisture Surge but it is a little out of price range at the moment!

I have combination skin; sometimes its super oily but then I have the other extreme of dry patches -- NIGHTMARE! I like a moisturiser to sink into my skin and make me feel fresh! I use moisturiser before applying makeup and sometimes after showering or before bed! I know you can get night creams as well but if I have too many skincare products to use I honestly just forget to use them!

After reading a number of reviews online and hearing the praise that Origins gets I am going to purchase, once I get paid, the Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser. I really hope this is as good as all the hype!

I will do a review on this moisturiser in the next month or two and let you know what I think!

Any other recommendations of moisturiser/skincare would be appreciated!

My foundation favs

I have bought a lot of foundation over the years, and spent anything between £5-40.

Out of all my purchases I have, I believe, finally found my favourite foundations! Each one has its own use and benefits.

I must start off by saying I am really pale. If I don't wear foundation people usually say I look ill or very tired. I would say I am a mixture of warm and cool tones but to be honest I am that pale sometimes I cant really see any tone! I like my foundation to look natural and blend with my natural skin tone, whilst also covering up any red marks and blemishes! I don't find a foundation can do this all by itself, I generally need the aid of a concealer as well, especially under my eyes!

Anyway onto the foundations........

Top Image, from left to right: Hello Flawless Cover Up Powder by Benefit, NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (x2), Body Shop Moisture Foundation and Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation

Hello Flawless Cover Up Powder by Benefit

I use this to lightly brush over a base foundation whenever my skin is oily! I don't use it by itself but I do know people who do. I have the lightest shade "gee, I'm swell!" Ivory and I use the brush that comes in the compact to lightly dust over my face. This is my second lot of this stuff and I love it. It doesn't make my skin dry like a lot of powders do and the colour is great for me !Also find that it lasts me quite a while as I only use a small amount at a time. This usually costs around £25.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

I only bought this foundation this year, and I must say I do love it! I actually love pretty much anything by NARS, so watch out for further NARS reviews!
It has a dewy like texture and it my special "going out" foundation. I actually mix two colours; Siberia and Mont Blanc. I found that Siberia was too pale for me, and Mont Blanc added a little more of a pink tone to even the Siberia out. I would say this is a medium coverage foundation.
One downside to this foundation is the lack of a pump, so it can be quite messy getting some out of the bottle and actually onto your face! I do love this foundation though!! It is a little more on the pricey side, around £32 a bottle.

Body Shop Moisture Foundation - Shade 04

I have been buying this foundation for years and years! It is my daily wear foundation. It doesn't dry my skin out, it has SPF in it (so I use it on holiday -- and its great!) and the shade is probably the closest match to my skin I have ever found!! I don't find it gives me a thick coverage but definitely enough for everyday use. I used to apply this foundation with a sponge and I found that I wasted so much, now I use a buffer brush and I get so much more out of a bottle! Reasonably priced at £13 and Body Shop always have great vouchers to use online so I usually buy this along with one of their body scrubs!

Mac Studio Sculpt - NW15

This is my newest foundation, and actually my first Mac product. So far I am impressed! Colour is a great match for my skin, and I only need to use a little to get basic coverage. You can really build this foundation quickly so you can get anything from medium to full coverage. I am switching between this foundation and my NARS Sheer Glow for "going out" at the moment but I may even start using this during the day as well. Priced at £25.50.

I actually cant wait to do my makeup tomorrow now! :)

Pretty Things, Horsham - Vintage Cafe Review

This place is amazing! I love Brighton and the lanes and all the small little trinket shops you come across that sell tea cups, garlands, note pads, boxes, baskets, things hang on the wall, old school signs, you name it!

Pretty Things, Horsham is basically the cafe version of all of this I love and more. You can pretty much buy any item that is on display and they have a gorgeous menu and selection of teas and coffee!

What I actually loved the most is the tea cups and plates that are brought out are all mis-matched, it gives it such a a unique feel. I only discovered this place recently, and I cant believe I haven't seen it before.

I will be going back again very soon, actually already booked me and my friend in for her birthday treat!

Recommend you take a look if you are anywhere in the area! Also if you do intend to go at weekends, I recommend booking as they can get quite busy!

Hello & Welcome!

This is my first blog post on My Little Flower Pot.

I should probably start off explaining about the name, I chose this simply because my mum has called me 'Flower Pot' from a young age. She's northern and has strange terminology but its kind of amazing at the same time.

I cant wait to start blogging. I have so much I want to blog about; make up, movies, books, ASOS! I love ASOS, like LOVE LOVE.

Anyway will keep this first post short and sweet. Just wanted to say welcome and I hope you enjoy reading!
